Tell Ford: Support People, Not Big Businesses

People across our province need direct help today. Instead of providing full support for Ontarians impacted by COVID-19, the Ford Conservatives’ economic update committed to spending far more on businesses than on people.

People are worried about about putting food on the table and paying their rent and mortgages. The best way to support them is by direct financial support; not through tax schemes or business incentives.

Other provinces – like Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Quebec, New Brunswick, and PEI – have measures that support a broad range of residents with immediate financial support who may otherwise fall through the cracks.

This is necessary and urgent – and if other provinces can do it, we can too.

Send a message to the Ford Conservatives urging them to create an Ontario Emergency Income Benefit to ensure immediate financial support of at least $2,000 for those who are unemployed and waiting to access other income supports, those already on income support, and the most vulnerable in our communities.

Our communities are hurting because of this crisis and we’re expecting more from this government.

Send the Ford Conservatives a Message.

If there are any questions about this or other WSIB related matters, please contact the WSIB Representative assigned to your CUPE Ontario area.

Sincerely,
